Choosing the Right Custom Unit & Lace Frontals

Lace Front Wig Cap Construction

All of our caps are constructed with full lace. The full lace cap is the most natural and undetectable cap available. Once placed onto your scalp, there is no discernable netting to signal that the hair on your head is not the hair you were born with. The lace foundation disappears as it touches your skin. The transitional density of the front hairline replicates patterns of natural growing hair. Our full lace cap is crafted to maximize breathable airspace and is light and comfortable to wear. It also provides proper ventilation while worn which will eliminate heat and moisture build-up. We offer 3 types of full lace caps:

 

Full lace cap with little ear-to-ear stretch (Recommended)

 

Full lace cap with no stretch

 

Full lace cap with an ear to ear stretch lace and around the entire perimeter of the wig. 
 

The two types of lace used to construct lace wigs are:

  •  French lace- This lace is undetectable, but is not as delicate as Swiss lace and with proper care, will hold up better er time. Most people order this type of lace.
  • Swiss lace- This lace is slightly thinner than French lace, and a little less detectable. However, it is less durable and it rips easier. This lace is not recommended for first time users.

We offer several different types of cap constructions:

 

 Full Lace Cap with Ear to Ear Stretch                                           

This is the most popular full lace wig cap style.  The stretch panel gives you room to stretch the cap from all angles in case your head measurements are a little off. 

This cap style has lace all around the perimeter and allows you to wear your hair in up-dos and high ponytails.  When glued down, it will give you a natural hairline all around the perimeter.  It can be parted anywhere throughout the unit

 *We recommend this cap construction for those starting with  Lace Front Wigs.*

 

 

Full Lace Cap with No Stretch

This full lace cap does not have a stretch panel.  This cap style allows you to wear your hair in up-dos and high ponytails as it has lace all around the perimeter.  When glued down, it will give you a natural hairline all around the perimeter.  It can be parted anywhere throughout the unit. 

 

 

 

Lace Front Cap

This cap style does not allow you to wear your hair in up-dos and high ponytails. It will give you a natural hairline in the front only.  The back has  adjustable straps similar to a regular wig. 

However, just like the full lace cap mentioned above, all of the hairs are hand-tied into the cap and it can be parted anywhere throughout the top of the unit. This cap style only has to be glued down in the front and is ideal for women that never want to wear their hair in up-dos or high ponytails

Lace Frontals 
 Lace front partials are ideal for women that would like to add fullness to their frontal scalp area without the need to wear a full head hair system. They are hand made of french lace material and are available in a variety of lengths and hair textures.

Lace Colors

  • Transparent: suitable for most complexions
     

  • Brown: suitable for those with medium brown complexions
     

  • Light brown: suitable for women with light brown skin

 

Thin Skin Front/Lace Back Cap


This cap style  is for those clients that are experiencing problems with extreme balding or thinning. The individual strands are attached to this thin skin,which is a polyurethanematerial. This is cap style can be made  to be  thin-skin to crown and lace with the rest of the unit. Or the complete unit  can be made completely of thin skin. This  is only recommended for the clients with the above listed isses  because it is not as breathable like the lace units are.

Cranial Prosthesis Cap (Chemo-Option#3)


This cap has a breathable front with monofilament in the top and stretch material in the back. This unit has the same breathabilty, flexibilty  and natural look as our other units. This is one of the various cranial structures we offer.

Monofilament Cap

 

This monofiliment material is a very durable nylon material. It is very simular to pantyhoses material and it is available in either fleshtone or black colors. With our Easy TAB Compound applied and placed over your own skin or scalp, the monofilament material looks just like real skin. In fact... because your own skin color photographs through the monofilament it gives the elusion that the hair tied to the monofilament material is your own hair growing from your scalp.

Unit Design Options

 What are Bleached Knots?

 Bleaching the knots is currently to best known method of making the hair appear as if it is growing from the scalp. The bleached hair will help to hide the knots in about 1/4-1/2 inch front. When a dark hair is tied to the base of a hairpiece with a knot, you can see a dark dot on the skin, especially when the base is lace. Lace cannot hide the knot in the same way a poly or monofilament base does. Bleached knots are only done at the front hairline and help create the illusion that your hair is growing out of your head. If the original hair color is Black, Dark Brown, Medium Brown or Brown, then knots that hold the hair onto the base will be slightly lighter and will be much less visible. Single knots such as those used at the front edge will be very hard to spot. Depending on the original hair color, the bleached knots will be slightly lighter. Ordering bleached knots on light colored wigs is not needed. You will notice the knots in the front are smaller in diameter than the knots in the back, because they have been bleached. The photo above is an exaggerated example of bleached knots. Bleaching the knots is just meant to make the knots less detectable, they won't be pale blonde, clear or totally invisible.

What is Density?

Density refers to the number of hair placed on the wig which determine how thick or thin it will be.

Hair Density

1. This is 50% density, or "extra-light"

2. This is 80% or "light"
Like real hair, it shows a fair amount of scalp but is also a good full young healthy head of hair.

3. This is 100% or "light-to medium"
Normal density that offers light airy part, Full head of healthy hair.

4. 130% -180% is also available for an extra $35

What is Baby Hair?

Baby hair is a few shorter strands of hair added around the edges of the wig to help the hairline appear more natural similar to your own natural hairline.
